Do you find gift giving a little stressful? There are people in your lives that you want to get something unique and original for their special occasion. They have certain likes and dislikes and you do know what to focus on. You know what they will use and appreciate. Now, the downfall with that is we tend to get the same things for them over and over again. Okay its Dad’s birthday so I need to stop and pick up some chocolate covered almonds and a bottle of scotch. Sure they’ll get used but really can’t I be more creative and think a little more? He likes to golf too but right now, most golf items are a little out of my budget aside from bag of tees and how boring is that? Then it occurred to me, there are few small items I can think of and how cool it would be to assemble them to make one themed gift basket to change things up!
All things ‘golf’ wrapped in a themed container would be perfect. Golfer’s fortune cookies, golf tees packaged up in an ice cream pail, even comical golf ball markers. The idea is with the Themed gift baskets you can take something they enjoy like fishing, golf or more generally sports and have some gift items specific to the main idea. These are all neatly assembled in containers that are typically reusable in some way and carry on the theme. Throw in some awesome delicious and unique snack items, I mean c’mon, who doesn’t enjoy something good to eat?
The same rule of thumb can apply for those that you may not know what to get, or what they need, like or dislike. Some of the themed gift baskets play it safe in a manner of speaking. A chocolate lovers theme for example, while you may not know a lot about the person perhaps you have seen them indulge in chocolate. So capture the idea and run with it! Another example could be a co-worker is having a baby. You may not know how they have decorated or what they need to complete the room. The big gift items may be risky as some people have specific wants with strollers, car seats or high chairs. A gift card is nice, but maybe putting a gift card into a Baby themed gift baskets. This adds some pizazz, color and shows that you put a little more thought into the gift idea. Items in the gift baskets are typically things that any new parent and baby would need. Some small toy items, books, lotions and bath care products just to name a few. A gift of consumable goods is always appreciated because sooner or later they are going to be needed.
So don’t stress, or panic with gift giving ideas, you are making it harder than you need to make it. A little bit of knowledge about someone can be stretched a mile in a themed gift basket. You can stop recycling the same gift idea year and after year and tie their favorite things up into a neat, colorful package that will certainly be enjoyed. Your basket may include the same item but you’ll be adding to it and making it more interesting. So broaden your thinking, and expand the offering with a collection of items that will be a sure fire hit. By the way, Dad thought the golf gift basket was a really cool collection and really enjoyed the gesture.
